| The online community is made up of +200,000,000 Internet Broadcasters. Got Network?
The Internet Broadcasting Association released today the Internet Broadcasting industry overview for 2000 - 2005. Significant evidence of viewing trends away from newspapers/print and audio/TV networks is clearly substantiated. In America there combined viewing time, time the average American spends in front of a screen, was up. This is accounted for by the dramatic increase in the sale of personal computers and the use of those computers in homes and at work. Many people were watching television at home and are now continuing to do that but adding their screen time from the computer, thus pushing the overall amount of time up considerably. What is apparent is that the way people are getting their news, entertainment, and business communication has dramatically shifted over to Internet Broadcasting. The industry of Internet Broadcasting has been able to serve the increased attention/capacity as it has the ability to double in size every one hundred days. The reality check can be taken from a number of points. Let's look at it from the aerial
view. New Year's Eve 1999, if all of the people on the planet were shrunk down to a village of one hundred people, only one would have a computer. From that point of view we have only just begun. As the family of man gains more computers, connectivity,
bandwidth and streamlined technology, it is safe to assume the new communication models built to carry the village forward will be based on the Internet. That's why we think Internet Broadcasting is here to stay. |
