Media In Ministry The churches. ministries, and faith based charities, have lost most of the "Public Service" radio and television broadcasting access - making it difficult for any of these to distribute any multimedia production or print/graphic content - that could enhance their worship services, grow relationship, share fellowship with the shut-in, or promote Theology. To address this need, the Internet Broadcasting Association has allocated iBTV network channels and web master support to assist ministries and faith based public service organizations in the production and distribution of their multimedia productions. As the iBTV network grows, and the relationship between the iBA/Craigslist Foundation grows - producers and production companies around the world will join the Nonprofit Production Team - a part of the iBA Nonprofit Resource Center. That means that some individuals, production companies, perhaps even equipment manufacturers or corporations that may wish to donate in-kind goods/services - could come available to your nonprofit ministry. In essence the iBTV system can help ministry organizations to better utilize the resources they all ready have. The First Presbytian Church of Burlingame is an excellent example of how Media In Ministry can help a congregation meet its PR, worship service broadcasting, and general congregational communication distribution. The church has a comprehenisve web page with an accomplished webmaster riding herd on the content. Media In Ministry installed a VHS production center - Up to 2 cameras - and in this case one is a full size VHS camcorder. When expense is an issue - the single camera rolls on the service and fades in - "sees" the front of the Bulletin for that worship service (taking the place of titles) and the camera rolls continuously thru the service. At the end of a single camera service - there is a complete and titled production of the service. When the tape is rewound - the staff can immediately take the MASTER copy of the tape with them on thier rounds - or circulate it to the pre-arranged shut-in audiences that want to view the service. When a service calls for more production value - the Media In Ministry two camera system utilizes a 2 camera switcher (that has wipe and fade effect generation - as well as an inexpensive titler, running the live switched program directly into a full sized VHS deck - when more than one copy is needed - up to six VHS "Master" copies can be made in real time. When a special event, worship service, wedding, or concert occurs - the service can employ an 8 camera digital switching, full graphics/animation, D! - direct to DVD production system. The fact remains that each church and charity has a unique operation - and more often than not, there would be benefit in having a library of worship services or past events - and the VHS tape is still a popular form of distribution for this media.
