Judge Creten graduated the bar in 1972 and has served as a county prosecutor for seven years pior to going into private practice (1981). The event opens at 2PM at the Lion's Clubhouse next to Washington Park. Wednesday 1.19.2005 Alzheimer's LifePlan Alzheimer's Can Be Prevented! It's over for Alzheimer's disease - as the Alzheimer's LifePlan Workshop concludes a one year focus group program - elevating the world's first Personal Alzheimer's Prevention program to the city service level. A focus group of 25 people has been meeting on the third Wednesday of each month - for the last year and a half. The purpose of the meetings was to develop effective ways for individuals to access an online community specifically set-up to educate, test memory fitness, record vital signs, and produce individual health and memory fitness information for the individual's doctor at time of examination. Today, the group announced it would open up to five affiliated clinic Alzheimer's LifePlan centers, and five senior community workshop stations in Burlingame. With the hub of the program operating out of the Burlingame Recreaton Center - the group hopes that 500 residents of Burlingame will go online, join the program and develop personal Alzheimer's Prevention programs for themselves and their families. 1-20-2005 Peninsula Hospital must be rebuilt and meet State Seismic requirements by 2013 - and the project is getting a slow start - developers reported today that five public hearings scheduled for this month have been postoned - while land/lease/business issues are worked out - the negotiations for these parts of the project have been going on for four years. Community advocates are gald there will be more time to announce public meetings - but developers fear the $420 Million estimate for the project will go up if construction is accelerated and/or has to be done when with inflated dollars. Sunday 1.31.2005 The world watched as IRAQ conducted its first free election in 50 years. There were several incidents of violence, but over 70% of the population turned out to vote - a clear statement of political interest from the population. Democratic political leaders stated that it was now time to start pulling American troops out of IRAQ - but, the Bush administration was quick to point out that the freedom and liberty of the Iraqian people was still at grewat risk - and a pull out of American troops before the Iraqians domestic peace keeping police were really able to stablize unrest - would lead the countless deaths and the potential of civil war. Tuesday 2.1.2005 Burlingame greeted February with a bueatiful day, cool and clear.
