your online activity is not difficult. Ask yourself what you
want from your investment (time/equipment/connectivity) in being
an online citizen. Manage your Internet Broadcasting operations.

easy, free and educational as well as being an effective way to
grow interactive relationships !-) iBA Web Master Resources
A powerful feature of Internet Broadcasting is the access it
brings. I know of no better resource for rapid understanding
of the Net, Internet Broadcasting technologies and operational
platforms then the LearnTheNet spaces.

If you have surfed around online before - and never really
interacted with any of the web masters (people who operate web
pages) or the enterprises (online interactive business or endeavor)
they represent - and not had an e-mail address - you've failed
to get any kind of a return on your investment (time or money).
At the very least, you should have an e-mail address from which
you can communicate with web masters - and they can communicate
with you.
E-Mail is the foundation of iB Communication.
So, let's get you an E-mail account. If you need to know what
e-mail is or how it works, you should go back to the LearnTheNet
site above and read the tutorials there. After you've established
your account you'll be going to the LearnTheNet
Net site to see how your computer must be configured to
access, send and receive your e-mail messages.
To establish your first and free e-mail account we
recommend you use the Yahoo Hotmail system -
I suggest
you enter and read the marketing
materials leading up to the "sign-up" page. Or,
you can go directly to the sign-in
area - you will note that the Hotmail account has a free
configuration - that is the one you want - it is full of great
features and tutorials to help you as well.
You should see the Yahoo Sign in Screen - if this is the first
time you have filled out such a form - be patient, write down
the information, user name, password that you use and don't
get too frustrated.
Once you have an e-Mail account - you will
need to configure your computer and online connection - to open
your online e-mail account, access any messages that are waiting
for you at Yahoo (or wherever your e-mail service is), and then
send/receive new messages. I use Outlook - a Microsoft program
that is part of my Windows XP Professional Office XP operating
system. There is a popular version of this program called Outlook
Express that is easy to use as well. You can learn a lot about
these kinds of operations at LearnTheNet.
You are not free to explore the wonderful world of E-mail.
You will want to experiment, and learn about several new forms
of community, project/event management, and e-mail broadcasting,
starting at a site that specializes in "free
stuff" to improve your experiences.
Searching and Surfing
You'll hear a lot about "surfing" the Internet -
that's what you do when you go from web page to web page. You
will also hear a lot about "searching" online - that's
when you submit keywords (topic) to a search engine - massive
computer banks that sift through the content on the Internet
in seconds - producing a list of results. The grandest of search
engines is "Google".
Be careful here - now that you have an e-mail address, you can
actually communicate with the hundreds of millions of online
citizens you could connect with through a single Google search.
Try it, it will change the way you do research on any topic
for ever.
You Aren't Alone - Join e-Groups, Newsletter Lists,
or online communities
When you got your Yahoo/Hotmail e-mail account, you were actually
joining an online community. In fact, Yahoo is one of the largest
and heaviest trafficked web sites around. Giving free e-mail
accounts is one of the way the managers of that enterprise has
insured they would be popular - having millions of people using
the site each hour, pays the bills. Internet Advertising has
become an industry very similar to television advertising in
the sense that advertisers are paying to have their banner ads
appear as you the "free" visitor moves about in the
Yahoo space.
You don't watch television for the commercials - you watch
for the content. With web page networks, it's the same. So,
networks have been built around special interests - and in E-Mail
platforms - these are e-mail lists. A list is configured in
several ways - and some of them are very easy to subscribe to.
Some list management service providers (like Yahoo) even make
it easy to start your own lists.

There is quite
a science to e-mail list management. Don't overdo your
signing up in the early days, and you might want to read
the fine print on most e-mail address forms. There are
legal methods of gathering people's e-mail address - like
the form to the left.
This is known as "opt-in" e-mail list building.
and you could be inviting hundreds of e-mail messages
into your In box that you otherwise would not want.
I would recommend you start with a visit to Topica. Topica
is great, it was one of the first special interest/topic list
groups out there and really maintained their online group communities
over the years. You can't fail to find something of interest
there and millions of people all ready working as in online
community.

Additional Values of having an e-mail address.
Basically, you're no body online - until you have an e-mail
address. And, with one, you can do remarkable things - almost
without limitation. Your e-Mail address is your identity and
your connection between all other things online. It allows you
access to private and financial transaction areas, educational
programs, communities, resources and most important - it gives
you an identity.
As you progress in your Internet Broadcasting experiences -
you will see there are ways to create online businesses - like
eBay - which require you have an e-mail identity (of course
you'll need more than just the e-mail address - but won't get
started without an e-Mail account).
E-Mail Communities
The world of e-mail has many crooks and crannies - try to avoid
the crooks !-).
One of the neatest things about e-mail is it gives you a personal
identity and and address - armed with these you have the equivalent
of a passport to over 200,000,000 fellow e-mailers.

I am most impressed with a public e-mail community called "Craig's
List". Craig's List isn't global - yet - but in certain
cities, it is a remarkable online community, providing everything
from "free stuff" - meaning I'm leaving my stuff on
the street corner - first come first serve - to great job listings
and event calendars. It is a completely open society and service.

As mentioned above - there are private e-mail list
groups - like Topica - where you will find groups of
people in your profession or personal walk of life - all ready
functioning as an online community. I just did a Google search
with the key words "e-mail list directories" and got
over 3,000,000 responses - enough to spend a lifetime search
through.
Your e-mail address can be an online business license.......
I'm sure you have heard about the "Make Money While You
Sleep" advertising for Internet based business. OK, there
isn't a free lunch anywhere on the planet - online is no different.
The get rich quick models are either all taken up (many of the
people promoting online business with no products made fortunes
- but you're too late for that - don't be a sucker), or, they
are out and out attempts to get your money into their bank.
That being said, there are probably a million legitimate businesses
you can start online, now that you have an e-mail address. These
come in a variety of forms and if you have the golden egg -
TRAFFIC - to your web site (or e-mail), you have a chance to
make regular income. How much depends on how hard you work to
get it.
Let's start out with you opening your first online store. Sounds
impressive doesn't it? Actually, it is. I recommend you visit
vStore
- that stands for Virtual Store - where you can get free hosting,
free store web page designs, free product and commercial sales
transaction centers - for products you make money on selling
- never having to store them in inventory or even pay for them.
That's
vStore.
When you first land at vStore, you will be greeted by the group's
sign-in page.
This program will introduce you to the world of affiliate sales
programs. In a few minutes you can register as an affiliated
sales operation of the vStore group, select from a variety of
store designs (which become web pages), load your store with
goods and services from the participating merchants. It will
astound you, the number and variety of products you can "stock"
your store with in minutes.
How does this work and how can you make money at it?
It works because the programmers at vStore have developed a
slick Internet Broadcasting business platform. The platform
literally acts as a clearing house for goods and services that
you promote (and hopefully sell) across the web page the vStore
system has built in your name - but in their spaces. If you
attract people to the stores (traffic) there is a chance you
will sell something - earning a commission. So, that is what
I meant earlier when I said "If you have the Golden
Egg - Traffic", you have a chance at making some
money online.
You should build a couple of stores at vStore - just to get
the hang of it - before you get too serious about investing
time and money to promote the stores. It is a great way to build
up your web store skills.

You can find thousands - perhaps millions of affiliate sales
programs. Most operate on similar commission per sales e-business
platforms - and these all make generating selling pages easy
on the web master. You could spend the rest of your career building
these pages - remember however, just having a sales page doesn't

Internet Broadcasting Web Master
Will a Blog satisfy your
needs?
Building and publishing
interactive communications through a blog, is easy - free and
very inexpensive if you need support.
We recommend
e-Blogger - you'll learn more by just opening your first
free blog - then possible here - at least about this area of
Internet Broadcasting.
If you are an intermediate
web master, and know how to install programs on your hosted
sites or servers, we suggest you check out
WordPress - it is a free
open source blog platform supported by a large number of
developers - the iBA being one of them.
If you need a web page -
You will need to register a
URL - or domain name - NOTE: You can't own a domain name, you
rent it which always seemed like a oversight on the part of
those who designed our loverly www - but that's the way it is.
Anyway, you rent your
domain name by registering it - then you have to rent space (on
an internet connected server) for the content you want people to
find on your web page. Think of your web page hosting service as
a filing cabinet, your URL domain name and address is just that
and address on the internet that holds your files. You control
and maintain the look/feel/function of online experiences - you
are the webmaster.
Being a webmaster can be a
career in itself. Taking it to a career level, is not for the faint hearted nor lazy
individual. In the next few paragraphs, I'm going to show you
the "Server Side" of the massive value added network
services (VANS)platform - Novasoft - which the entire Internet
Broadcasting utilizes for data file management. If you go to the
below link - you'll land in a plain looking directory page. This
is the overview test control panel - meaning all of the programs
used by the network are here - fully operational and in a test/development
state. So, you aren't going to need a security log-in or be asked
to authorize any administration codes - you are free to just navigate
around this online service/project management
lobby.
Did you enjoy-understand all of that? The reason I ask, is that
if you didn't, you see something there that resembled you "vision"
for online operations - you may not have the makings of a web
master. You see, these applications contain serious JAVA, HTML,
MySQL, PhP, JavaScript, and custom programming - all in a seamless
platform for the visitor and administrator to manage individual
online experiences through. I'm a web master with considerable
experience - but I am not a master of any of these platforms -
to be that requires years of dedicated hard work.
That being said, you could dive into managing your personal page,
or volunteer to construct pages for charity/faith based groups
or even your family. Along the way, you might pick up enough tricks
and skills to satisfy your requirements or vision. You could also
learn enough about these things to pay reasonable prices for Internet
Broadcasting related goods/services. You might even want to hire
web masters to build/work for you - so you can maintain the spaces
after they have built them.

Web
at a glance. This is a good page to add to your favorites,
as it is more like a Glossary and reference document than an
actual program or tool.
Rule Number Two - Take advantage of your connectivity.
There are more than enough free programs, web page hosting,
web page designs, online communities, companies who offer free
demo (trial periods) where you can use programs, content or
services - that all can accelerate your progress towards becoming
a Master of Internet Broadcasting - or a really impressive web
master.
Web masters manage web pages - that's part of the game. As
you learned in the e-mail world - there are some web pages that
are free, basically automated from design to operation - and
there are others that look very complex. Let's review the free/simple
ones like at
vStore.
If you do not have a web page - The vStore operation,
will literally give you web pages, that you operate and promote.
The promote part is what is important here. These pages are sales
pages and as products are sold, you get a commission on them.
This method of e-business sprung up when online service providers
realized they needed traffic - visitors to their online sales
desks - before they would ever make sales. Some very ingenious
marketers and programmers developed a system of "affiliate"
sales pages - and that has become a tremendous industry - the
Affiliated Sales Program.
Go ahead and build a couple of vStore pages for a web page you
intend to open. Let's say you are going to build a web page for
your High School - they have a mascot - say the Panthers - open
op the Panther's Den and sell sporting goods, school supplies,
clothes, DVD's - whatever you think would be interesting to visitors.
This is a great way to get some experience as a web master. Don't
expect to sell anything or make money just yet - why, Because
these pages can only make money if they have a lot of traffic.
You don't get traffic just because you build a vStore.
You get traffic when you build a web page that attracts
visitors. If your school doesn't have a web page, you
can bet the students, parents, staff and maybe even the community
will at least check it out - therein presenting an opportunity
to promote the vStore sales operations.
Let's build a free web page. I went on Google
and did a search using the keywords, "Free Web Page",
close to the top of the results was the freesite
operation and that had a link in it to ZeroCatch.com.
I was disappointed with the ZeroCatch free page
- I left it in to show you that even I get frustrated with a lot
of the things online.
I went back to my Google "free web page" search -
and low and behold - my old friends at Bravehost.com came up early
in the results. I hadn't used their free web page service before
- I have used several of their excellent free scripts and code
packages - so I thought I'd give their freebie a whirl. I'm glad
I did - because you'll need a "user-friendly" web master
support area - especially if this is new to you. In the Bravehost
area - you can build, crash and burn web pages with all kinds
of features. Take a look at my first page www.ibnetwork.bravehost.com,
then take the system for a test
ride.
There may be thousands of free site hosting companies - all offering
you the web master a parking space on the Internet - Why? They
are counting on you, the web master, to build a page that will
attract visitors - the visitors will see advertising which pays
for your web page hosting.
From here on, there are excellent online resources, that offer
developer's group support to free and open source programs. Below
is a short list of iBA affiliates or open source groups we endorse.
You can master all the online interactive Internet Broadcasting
platforms you'll ever need to be a world class webmaster.
Keep in mind that optimized Internet Broadcasting is a very new
industry, and the software/hardware platforms being used are also
being developed as you read this document. There is no substitute
for good education and training. If you have the time, there are
ample tutorial or resource groups available to help - but you
have to do the work and learn the process. Good luck on your journey
to Enterprise management.

Content Management
Search. The Content Management Program Industry has
grown so large that it supports many online communities
and online resources - this is perhaps the best for an
orientation of CPM in general.
Free
15 day trial of CPM. This vendor offers a well rounded
set of applications - from project management of online
community building - free trial allows you to manage your
own education.
PHP
These Programs (CPM) are very popular online. They allow
you to automate submissions and postings - basically an
online publishing empire - in your customized themes and
formats. If your web page is hosted with a commercial
ASP they might offer installation and operations support
for PhP - ask them as this could help you greatly and
speed your progress.
The Community or Marketing Center
Good
Article and ResourceBasically PhP
is the tollgate platform and being able to cut and paste
in areas you control or are comfortable navigating in/around
will have to be one of your skill sets.
The Affiliate Resource Center or Online Service
Center
Bookmark this page in your browser, and as you build your iB
real estate, get close to your web page host and service providers
early in the game. I remember establishing my first web page
in 1995, I had a computer programmer who fancied himself a web
master - and funded his education in data base management, HTML,
and graphics. In 1996, I asked him to do a few things, actually
to show me how to do a few simple things, and I realized he
was a manic depressive, suicidal, unethical, and a poor web
master all rolled into one! I made the
mistake of giving the quality control of my web page end-user
interface and experience quality control over to someone else.
In just about any case- that is a mistake - because, no one has
the vision that you have. So be careful not to compromise your
vision - it is better to have an absolutely plain vanilla web
page that truthfully presents the truth and integrity of your
purpose - than to have your vision molested by an employee.
If you are really serious about becoming an
enterprise manager, take the role of web master seriously too.
If you have the time and ability to be a great web master - you
can write your own ticket on a career path - because there are
just too few with talent to go around.
If you find navigating around inside of distant servers, copying/editing/pasting/posting
lines of code that look like "geekreek" to you NOT
your cup of java - get as good a quality of help you can.
